Native American casinos in Indiana
Indiana has three casinos owned by Native American tribes. One is an Indian gaming casino and the other two are commercial casinos.
Four Winds Casino South Bend
Four Winds Casino is owned by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. This casino in South Bend is an Indian gaming casino regulated by the federal government. In August 2021 the Four Winds Casino began a revenue sharing compact with the state that allows for Class III games, such as Vegas-style slots and table games.
Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana
Hard Casino in Gary is 85% owned by Hard Rock International, an enterprise of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Hard Rock is a state-licensed, commercial casino rather than a federally regulated Indian gaming casino.
Caesars Southern Indiana
Caesars Entertainment sold this casino to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in 2021. The tribe retained the Caesars branding and operates the casino under state license rather than the U.S. Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
A fourth casino project, Rocksino Terre Haute, was stopped before starting construction due to the licensing cancellation by the Indiana Gaming Board. Hard Rock had signed as operational manager of the casino. The gaming board has reopened the licensing process to accept new applications for a Terre Haute casino.
